"Recipe for Success in Writing and Learning"

The Michigan Writing Centers Association (MiWCA) invites proposals for the 32nd Annual Ideas Exchange, centered on the theme “Recipe for Success in Writing & Composition.” We welcome writing center practitioners, tutors/consultants, faculty, administrators, and graduate and undergraduate students from across Michigan and the region to share the ingredients, techniques, and tools that help writers and writing centers thrive.

This year’s theme uses the analogy of a recipe to explore what makes writing and composing successful in diverse contexts: What ingredients and foundational skills benefit the composition process? What is the secret sauce for successful composition? How can we as writing center tutors and administrators add a dash of innovation into our practices? What challenges exist for writing students and writing center staff? And how do writing centers experiment, improvise, and adapt their recipes to serve varied learners?

For more information and submission criteria please view the Call for Proposals

Priority Deadline for Proposals: Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
