How illustrations help children in learning new words

If you observe closely you will see that young children are often learning new words by relating those words to certain pictures and images. They know that a cat is a cat by looking at a picture and that is how they relate words in their minds and understand the meaning of words. Many children’s book illustration styles are used by illustrators to illustrate in such a way that helps children learn new vocabulary in the easiest ways possible.
