A Good Career in Writing Industry?

Writing is one of the things that I have loved for the longest time. I loved spilling the words out and I love everything about writing and I have done this since I was a child. However, when I was a kid I found out that writing could merely be a hobby and not a professional career. But as I grew up the roots of digital mediums did too and this became the evolution of writing industry. I am now thinking to get into this industry but I want to know what I should opt to have a good career in this field? Should I be one of the Wikipedia writers? Should I get into article and blog writing or something else? Please can someone comment on what should be a good career in this field? The career that will have scope as well as has a good demand.
