Dr. Wonderful is the Director of the Richard Wright Center for Writing, Rhetoric, and Research at Jackson State University. Her publications include the 2023 IWCA Outstanding Book Award winner, Counterstories from the Writing Center, “Full Disclosure: Black Rhetoric, Writing Assessment, and Afrocentric Rubrics,” “Race, language, and Literacy: The Hidden Curriculum of the Writing Center," “Beyond the Two-Tiered System: Contingency as a Tool for Academic Upward Mobility," and more. Her current research focuses on Black students' perceptions of Black Language in academic writing and investigating DEI in HBCUs and its potential to positively affect DEI initiatives in PWIs.
